Jaca, located at 7 km from our B&B, has a rich historical past. The city was the first capital in Spain during the Roman Empire. The Romanesque cathedral was built in the 11th century and has one of the most important collections of medieval art in Europe.

In the center of Jaca, there is an imposing castle, built according to the techniques of Vauban. This castle is still completely intact. In the canals around the castle a flock of deer have their home. In the castle there is a museu with war miniatures.

In addition, Jaca has a belfry and there is a beautiful Romanesque bridge that is still used by the pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostela.

The former Benedictine monastery of San Juan de la Peña is located at 31 km from our B&B. The monastery is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and definitely worth a visit. You can visit both the old and the new monastery. You can ask us for tips regarding the visit.

In Canfranc, about 30 km from our B&B you will find an impressive large train station. When it opened in 1928, it was the largest train station in the world. The location is unique: the station is located in the middle of the mountains in a deeply carved valley.

At about 15 km from our B&B starts a tour around 14 different Serrablo churches built in the 10th century. They are the oldest still existing churches in Spain.

At approximately 1 hour drive from our B&B you can visit the Castle of Loarre. This beautiful medieval fortress has a fairytale location and is one of the best preserved Romanesque castles in Europe. Definitely worht a visit! You can combine this trip with a visit to the beautiful rock formations of Mallos de Riglos.
